Executive Summary

  • This article covers the issue with subscribing and how our site works.

Introduction

You need to be a subscriber to access or support this. We cover what happens when people rely on free sources of information on medical and health topics which are invariably sponsored by establishment medicine in the article How WebMD is a Paid Shill for the Medical Establishment and the article Should Brightwork Research Find Industry Sponsors to Support Our Research?

How the Site Works

When we respond to subscribers, we typically send them the link to the content, which is what we would do in response to your question; however, as a non-subscriber, you can’t read the articles we would send you.

By requesting information without being a subscriber, you contradict our revenue model and create extra work for us, because we would have to explain everything in emails.

Our History of Having to Deal With Free Questions

With several decades of research experience, we have long dealt with free requests for information. The demand for information far exceeds the willingness and desire to pay. Even companies with ample financial resources will try to get free information from us. At one point, representatives from Microsoft asked us to provide them with free information. They thought they could use our time without compensation, because apparently, Microsoft does not have enough money to pay for the information they desire to access. This is just how humans are. Many people will try to get free information from us by stating that they have a very urgent need, that they cannot pay, or that they compliment us.

One way that people who don’t want to pay for something try to get around it is by sending emails to websites asking for free information. We have stated very clearly on our homepage that we will not answer questions for non-subscribers.

If you want to access our information, you must become a subscriber.
