The Issue with Ivermectin and Sleep Disruption Depending Upon Dosage Timing

Executive Summary

  • We found an issue with taking Ivermectin later in the evening and sleep disruption.

Introduction

We found something in our testing that we could not discuss in the coverage of Ivermectin, and it is not a significant issue and is easy to work around.

Late Evening Ivermectin and Sleep Disruption

We found this issue when testing taking Ivermectin multiple times per day, so we increased dosages. And we took Ivermectin for the first time on several days in the late evening, right before bed. We alternated not taking Ivermectin this way one day and then taking it right before bed the next day.

Our sleep declined in quality on the days we took Ivermectin right before bed.

Interestingly, this is not listed as one of Ivermectin’s side effects.

These side effects can be seen below.

#1: The Most Common Side Effects

Difficulty in moving
muscle pain or stiffness
pain in the joints
swollen, painful, or tender lymph glands in the armpit

#2: Less Common Side Effects

Black, tarry stools
bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet
chest pain
chills
cold sweats
cough
dizziness or lightheadedness
dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up from lying or sitting position
eye or eyelid irritation, pain, redness, or swelling
fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
fever
painful or difficult urination
rapid weight gain
sensation of spinning
shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet
sore throat
sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
swollen glands
tingling of the hands or feet
trembling or shaking of the hands or feet
trouble breathing
unusual bleeding or bruising
unusual sleepiness
unusual tiredness or weakness
unusual weight gain or loss – Drugs

Even at high dosages, we never found any of these side effects. And quite the opposite of the side effect of “unusual sleepiness,” we found sleep disruption. However, this all depended upon the timing of taking Ivermectin.

What is odd about this side effect is that Ivermectin is one of the most widely prescribed drugs in the world. And the drug has been in use for 40 years. It might be that this is a false positive. However, we seemed to feel different and less alert each time we took Ivermectin before bed.

Conclusion

We are proponents of Ivermectin, but we also want to share any of the negative aspects of Ivermectin, even if they are not significant issues.

There is an easy way around this side effect, like caffeine taking Ivermectin earlier in the day. After many months of taking Ivermectin, we never found any problem sleeping until we took Ivermectin right before bed. We also don’t know why this occurs. However, we thought we could help people stay away from sleep disruption.

Source of Ivermectin

Our approved source for Ivermectin is Summit Products. This source makes Ivermectin much easier to obtain, and Summit Products developed that subsite only to sell the Ivermectin that passed our bioequivalence testing. (which you can read about here)
